As many schools have very few classrooms – in fact some teach outdoors – there was no space for storage for library books.

Kanga Schools has “partnered” with 19 schools in the building of libraries.  In this partnership, the schools make the mud bricks and provide the labour for building the library – and Kanga Schools provides the funds for cement rendering, roofing, framework etc.



One room of this building is designed to house the computers provided, and it is to this room the generator is linked when it has been provided.

It is now hoped that additional funds will be made available to purchase more generators for each of these school libraries to enable use of the libraries at night and make them accessible to their communities.
