Technical Colleges & Libraries

Two technical colleges in Freetown are also beneficiaries -receiving computers, tertiary texts and texts covering car maintenance, metalwork, woodwork, plumbing and other vital trades required in Sierra Leone.  Because of the donations received, Kanga has also added medical and teaching colleges as recipients of books and teaching aids.

Freetown Library began by assisting this project with providing training in library management for the schools benefitting from donated books.  This national library is now a Kanga Schools recipient as well, together with regional libraries at Kenema, Bo, Makeni, Magburaka, Koidu and national museum - and the project thus reaches the wider community.

These libraries have all been provided with many computers, and tens of thousands of books, high quality encyclopedias, and more.  The Freetown library has been able to add a section on videos to its shelves for borrowing.  And with the additional computers donated, Freetown library is setting up an internet cafe.
